Is Moopes really free? +

Yep. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no ads. Just conversations.

Do I have to use my real name or photo? +

No. You can choose an avatar and username, or upload your own photo if you want. You can be as anonymous as you want.

How big are the rooms? +

Room sizes are set by the person who creates them, usually between 2–12 people max. Some rooms are full, while others still have space to join. Keeping rooms smaller helps convos feel more natural and gives people a real chance to talk and get to know each other over time.

Is it moderated? +

Yes. Room moderation tools are available for room creators and users assigned as moderators. Anyone can also flag issues for the Moopes team to review. Moopes is an 18+ app built around respectful conversation.

Where is Moopes available? +

Moopes is available on iOS and Android in selected countries, including the US, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and parts of Europe. More regions will be added over time. If you'd like Moopes to be available in your country, feel free to send us an email.

What if I just want to read, not chat? +

That's completely fine. You can follow rooms and read along quietly without ever posting anything. Join conversations only if and when you feel like it.

Are conversations live? +

Yes and no. People can chat in real time if they want to, but Moopes isn't designed around fast-moving live conversations that you constantly need to keep up with. Rooms continue over time, so you can reply later, leave the app, and come back whenever you want. You'll get notifications when new messages arrive, and they can be muted anytime if you prefer a quieter experience. Some people chat actively, while others mostly read along. Both are completely fine.

Can I create my own room? +

Yes. You can create your own room around almost any topic and customise things like the room name, description, maximum number of users etc.
